5 of the Best Chrome Extensions

A list of the 5 best Chrome browser extensions/addons worth using courtesy of The Next Web. As a sidenote: only install Chrome extensions that you feel confident in trusting.

Productivity:

1. Checker Plus for Gmail

If you want desktop notifications, including support for multiple accounts and replying/reading/starring/deleting messages directly from the drop-down extension icon, this is the app for you. There are also advanced features but require a donation. However, the free core version would be useful for people who spend a lot of time in their Gmail inbox.

2. Tab Cloud

If you have a tendency to have many browser tabs open, this extension allows you to click the icon in your toolbar, and name your open batch of tabs. You can then save that batch for re-opening later. It's a great organized way to get back to the tab group should you need it.

Content Organization:

3. Pocket

As entrepreneurs, you most likely open more stores than you can possibly read in one sitting. Pocket saves the articles for you to read and while saving, you can also add tags to help you search for it at a later time. Particularly useful if you've amassed a large collection of articles to read!

4. Evernote Web Clipper

For those who already use the Evernote app, this will be doubly-useful all your clippings of images or articles are saved in both the extension and in your app. It will also know if you're looking at an email and will provide options for you to clip individual emails as well.

Privacy:

5. Ghostery

This is a plugin that will help keep your personal details private by providing controls to allow you to decide which services can track you and which cannot. It will show the trackers running on each Web page and you can toggle them on or off for privacy control.
